When we first researched the potential model for theideabridge we noticed that companies were charging £8K for a bespoke e-comm design (when it was just a template from a Stock Library which the customer could have sourced himself) and then brand, copy and content charged on top! What a risk to take in the hope that something would succeed? There was no competitor review, no business plan or any help in evaluating what the customer would get in terms of return on investment (ROI) or much in the way of after sales care. Nowadays there's the DIY online option of course but both by it's nature and the AI driven marketing supporting it, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll be differentiated from the competition or that the focus and message will be in the right place. We also learned that customer's motives are not always just financial. The key for us then was to offer a low risk, affordable start with a unique concept, driven by individual motives, offering value not just in terms of price, but experience and sustainability into the future. Would that original customer have been happier to pay less and then pay a commission on the sales it generated? Effectively paying what the concept is worth. It removes a large part of the risk in setting up a new business and that's what theideabridge is all about, so let your customers 'pay' a big part in your business, funding not just future growth but the initial seed sown that created it.
